Ryan and Noah started playing tennis at the age of 4. We started the boys with weekly lessons a few years ago. We found out that there was a Jr 12s team at Toluca Lake Tennis and Fitness Club. We spent all last spring with the Toluca Lake team and the boys went on to win the San Fernando & San Gabriel section of the USTA 12's intermediate section.

As the summer got underway, Coach Ben Brunkow of Toluca Lake Tennis and Fitness strongly encouraged us to get tested and to join SSV Tennis. It seemed like a great idea at the time so we signed up. We were really impressed with the organization of the events and were so happy that the boys could get so much match play in just 3 hours. We liked that it is a mixture of ages and boys and girls.

We started to come to SSV almost every weekend. At first we lost a lot, but I did not mind. I believe it makes them stronger no matter how it turns out. Ryan and Noah say they love to play SSV Tennis and are always asking if there's an event coming up. They've made so many good friends too, which always helps. We've even become close with the other parents, nail biting in the back corners.

Mostly, I want the boys to have fun like I did as a young boy. Playing SSV Tennis and USTA Jrs has allowed the boys to fully know the joys of playing both individual and team tennis. We are so grateful for SSV and hope that the USTA will incorporate this format under their umbrella because it really is the best way for the kids to actually learn the game of tennis in a measured way. We're always striving to get better, up our rating and compete against some of the best kids in the city!

Thank you SSV Tennis!

Sincerely Patrick Williams
